MetaShip Tracking App

Tracking App

I’m working in Fintech company, providing various services for internet shops. So we have a lot of b2b clients, but always wanted to connect with end-users. One of the attemps was to create parcel tracking app. Because we already developed well-functioning accurate tracking for internet shops and our internal needs, it has just to create mobile app interface.

We worked in tiny team: product, back-end developer, iOs developer and me, designer, and the whole work was something like a startup inside a startup.

First step was of course research. We analyzed competitors to find best practise and to remove all that annoys. We analyzed 25 services O_o First steps were done in giant google sheet and notion with complex structure.

For example, in most of apps you have to log in or sign up from very begining. We decided that we don’t need it, and we will ask user to sign up later to get access to additional fucntions. Honestly this task is still in backlog. And I think it’s great that we don’t bother users with another registration.

Another thing we decided to make better — delivery service choosing. In most apps you have to specify delivery service with tracking number. But we decided to try to identify ot automatically. Our algorythm works rather good, and of course we let user to change delivery service manually.

There is no rich functinal, but still there are enough design work, because it’s necessary to think over all extreme states, various errors (not one message for any), editing, deliting, asking system permissions and so on.
